Ameesha Patel, currently riding high on the success of her film Gadar 2, recently opened up about her enduring bond with actor Sanjay Dutt. During an interview with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, she shared that Sanjay has been on a mission to find her a suitable match for the past two decades.
Ameesha fondly described Sanjay as a part of her family and revealed, “Sanju is my family. He also says, ‘Ameesha, you are too good for this industry. Mein nikal de raha hoon tujhe (I am pushing you out of this industry). You are too simple, too naive. Tu chal, mein shaadi karvata hoon teri (You walk, I will get you married).’ He has always been trying to set me up from the beginning. For 20 years, he has been attempting to find me the right match. He always says, ‘She is a kid, give her toys. This is the way to her heart.'”
Ameesha went on to share Sanjay’s aspirations regarding her future wedding, stating, “He tells this to everyone to impress me. A couple of guys have approached me after hearing Sanjay’s words, but I rejected them. Sanju always says, ‘When you get married, I will perform the kanyadaan (a Hindu wedding ritual symbolizing the father giving away the bride), and I will be very happy when you get married. Your kids will play with my kids.’ He is just like that.”
Ameesha Patel reprises her role as Sakeena in Gadar 2 and stars alongside Sunny Deol’s character, Tara Singh. The film, directed by Anil Sharma, has been a massive success at the box office, crossing the ₹500 crore mark within 24 days of its release. To celebrate the film’s remarkable achievement, the cast and crew hosted a grand party attended by Bollywood luminaries, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan.
