TMKOC : The resignation of Shailesh Lodha, a prominent member of the cast and crew of the popular TV show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), has been making headlines lately due to his allegations of non-payment of dues and breach of contract. While the production house had remained silent on the matter, Asit Kumar Modi, another prominent member of the team, has now spoken up about the issue.

Asit Kumar Modi, the producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), has finally spoken up about Shailesh Lodha’s departure from the show. Modi stated that a few months ago, he received a notice regarding unpaid dues, but was perplexed as he had not refused to clear them. He explained that his company had been reminding Shailesh to clear his dues, but the actor was unresponsive and did not fulfill the necessary formalities. Modi also stated that Lodha had a minor disagreement with him in April last year regarding his desire to take on work outside the show, but he couldn’t accommodate that request due to the show’s ensemble cast and daily soap nature. As a result, Lodha stopped shooting for the show.

Asit Kumar Modi revealed that after their tiff in April last year, Shailesh Lodha did not return to shoot for TMKOC. According to Modi, they had given Shailesh reminders to clear his dues, but the actor was unresponsive. As a result, in September of last year, they had to replace him with Sachin Shroff. Modi also expressed his disappointment that Shailesh used his poems and couplets to target him. He said that he had a positive relationship with Shailesh before their fallout and felt hurt by the situation.

When the portal contacted Shailesh Lodha to respond to Asit’s statement, he refused to comment on the case, saying that it was sub judice. However, he asserted that he has been a well-known poet since 1981 and has complete confidence that he can produce documented evidence to address each of Asit’s allegations.
