Mumbai: Bollywood’s famous choreographer Saroj Khan died in Mumbai due to cardiac arrest. Her health was not going well for the last few days, due to which she was admitted to a hospital in Bandra, Mumbai, her appearance deteriorated on Thursday night and she said goodbye to the world on Friday morning.

71-year-old Saroj Khan was admitted to a hospital in Bandra, Mumbai on 17 June due to inhalation, though her Covid19 test was done later which came negative. She breathed her last at around 2AM due to which she was having a lot of trouble due to not breathing.

How did Saroj Khan start her career:

Born on 22 November 1948, Saroj  choreographed songs from over 200 films. She started her career as a child artist at the age of 3 in the film Nazrana where she played the character named ‘Shyama’.  Saroj Khan was a background dancer in the late 1950s.

She learned dance while working under the film choreographer B. Sohanlal, and married to him at the age of 13, while marrying Saroj at the age of 13, Sohanlal was 41 years of age and did not tell Saroj that he was already married and had 4 children. She later shifted to choreography herself after working as an assistant choreographer, and got a break as an independent choreographer with the 1974 film ‘Geeta Mera Naam’.

However, she had to wait for many years to receive the acclaim, which she got with Sridevi’s 1986 film ‘Nagina’ directed by Hardesh Malhotra in which she became known as Saroj Khan ‘Mallika of Dance’, She became one of Bollywood’s most successful choreographers by consistently choreographing films one after another.

Let us tell you that many big Bollywood stars including Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai, Sri Devi were choreographed by Saroj, according to these stars, Saroj Khan has an important contribution in their success.
