Makers of the web series Mirzapur 2 have apologized to novelist Surendra Mohan Pathak for showing the novel ‘Dabba’ in a scene. Recently, Surendra had expressed reservations about showing his novel in the series scene. Along with this, he also sent a notice to the makers of Mirzapur 2. He had said that the makers have tried to tarnish his image.
A letter share post was shared on the Twitter handle of production house Excel Entertainment by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, which reads, ‘Dear Surendra Mohan Pathak, it has come to our notice from the notice sent by you that our recently released web series Mirzapur 2 has a scene, in which a character named Satyananda Tripathi is reading the novel ‘Dabbha’, which you have written. Along with this, the voiceover used in that scene has hurt the feelings of you and your fans. We apologize to you for this and want to tell you that this was not done in any way to tarnish or damage your reputation. We know that you are a well-known writer and your work has great importance in the world of Hindi crime fiction literature.’
It is further written in the post, We want to ensure you that it will be rectified. We will either blur the book cover in that scene or remove the voiceover within three weeks. Please accept our apology for inadvertently hurting your feelings.
Let us tell you that Surendra Mohan Pathak had sent a notice to the makers of Mizarpur 2 alleging that the series has tried to tarnish his image. In a scene of Mizarpur 2, the content of his novel Dhabba has been misrepresented.
