Kangana Ranaut claims Aamir Khan is behind the Laal Singh Chaddha boycott trend

Readers may be aware that Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha is currently trending on social media as a result of Aamir Khan’s old comment about ‘intolerant India,’ as well as Kareena Kapoor Khan’s support for a gang rape victim, a 3-year-old in Kathua. Following this, the internet went into a frenzy as people began posting hate comments and requesting that everyone boycott Laal Singh Chaddha. Kangana Ranaut has now expressed her thoughts on the matter.

“I think all the negativity surrounding upcoming release Laal Singh Chadha is skillfully curated by mastermind Aamir Khan Ji himself,” Kangana Ranaut wrote on her Instagram story. This year, no Hindi films have been successful (barring one exception of a comedy sequel). Only films deeply rooted in Indian culture or with a regional flavour have succeeded. A Hollywood remake would never have worked… However, they will now refer to India as intolerable.

She continued by saying, “Hindi films must understand the pulse of their audiences. It’s not about being a Hindu or a Muslim…even after Aamir Khan ji made a Hinduphobic PK or called India intolerant, he gave the biggest hits of his career…please stop making it about religion or ideology. It detracts from their poor acting and films.”

In response to this trend, Aamir Khan shared his thoughts on the Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha trending on social media, saying, “”I feel sad about it. Also, I am saddened that some of those who are saying this believe in their hearts that I am someone who dislikes India. They believe (so) in their hearts, but it is false. It’s unfortunate that some people think this way. That is not correct.”

When it comes to Laal Singh Chaddha, it is the official remake of Tom Hanks’ Oscar-winning film Forrest Gump. It stars Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in lead roles, with Naga Chaitanya making his Bollywood debut. The film will be released on August 25th.
