Ranveer Singh, a popular Bollywood actor, has recently made headlines for a provocative nude picture session. For a recent magazine session, the actor dressed in nothing, and the resulting photographs have now gone popular on social media. The Padmaavat actor has received support from a number of celebs, including Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti Chopra, Vaani Kapoor, and Arjun Kapoor. Vidya Balan has since added her voice to those speaking out for the actor.
Recently, the Mission Mangal actress—known for her forthright viewpoints—was questioned on Ranveer’s naked photo shoot. The actress attended the Mumbai screening of Kubbra Sait’s autobiography Open Book: Not Quite a Memoir. The actress responded when asked about Ranveer’s photo shoot by saying: “Pehli baar koi aadmi aisa kar raha hai, arre, kya issue hai. Aankhein sek lene do hum logon ko bhi.” What exactly is the issue? This is the first time a guy has carried out such an action.
Then a reporter questioned her on the FIR brought against the actor. The actress responded by saying that one might decide not to look at something if they didn’t like it.
“Isiliye in cheezo mei time gawa rahe hai, Shayad un logo ko zada kaam nahi hai. FIR ke chakkar mei kyu padna hai if aapko acha na lage toh paper band kar dijiye – jo karna hai kijiye, “She spoke. I believe such folks are wasting their time on such things since they don’t have a lot of job to do. Why waste time in FIR? Just don’t look at it if you don’t like it.]
The Indian Penal Code Sections 292 (selling of obscene literature, etc.), 293 (sale of obscene products to young people), 509 (statement, gesture, or act intended to offend the modesty of a woman), and provisions of the Information Technology Act have all been invoked in a FIR against Ranveer.
