The film Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on Gangubai. Her full name is Gangubai Harjivandas and belongs to Kathiawadi, a place in Gujrat. They both used to love in Mumbai but her husband sold her for 500rs in a brothel. She was just 16 years old and started sex works in this early age.
