The country’s doctors and medical workers are fast catching the corona virus epidemic. The number of medical personnel suffering from Corona virus has increased to 200 across the country while 12 private hospitals have been sealed. In the last two weeks, at least 90 doctors and medical staff in Mumbai hospitals have been found to be Covid-19 positive. Questions are now being raised on the preparations of hospitals to deal with this epidemic. Eight private super specialty hospitals with 1,500 beds have been sealed in Mumbai.
Doctor dies in Indore
On Thursday, a doctor was died in the Corona-affected city of Indore in Madhya Pradesh. However, the state government had made it clear that he was not treating Covid-19 patients. The very next day another Ayurvedic doctor died. Explain that health workers associations of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra have complained about the lack of masks, gloves and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ban on many hospitals in Mumbai
In Mumbai, recruitment of new patients has been banned for 14 days at major medical centers like Saifee, Jaslok, Breach Candy and Wockhardt. Shushrusha Hospital in Dadar was sealed on Friday. In addition to medical staff in these hospitals, at least 50 doctors continue to treat Covid-19. Another 200 medical personnel, including doctors and nurses, have been quarantined for 14 days.
