The movement of closed passenger trains due to Corona virus lockdown will be started from May 12. Indian Railways will initially operate only special trains. Only passengers with confirmed tickets will get admission in the station.

New Delhi: Passenger trains, which have been closed since March 25 due to the Corona virus lockdown, will regain momentum from May 12. During this period, people stranded in distant states and people going to other places for necessary work can travel. If you also want to travel in these trains from May 12, then you should know these things first.
Initially only 30 trains will be operational
Indian Railways will initially operate only 30 passenger trains. Most of these will take passengers from different parts of the country starting from New Delhi railway station. In the first phase, special trains will be operated from New Delhi to Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Madgaon, Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad and Jammu Tawi.
Only those with confirmed tickets will be able to travel
Only passengers with valid confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter railway stations. Passengers will be mandatory to cover the face and undergo screening at the time of departure and only passengers will be allowed to board the train.
Reservation will start from 4 pm on Monday evening
Reservations on these trains will start at 4 pm on May 11 and will be available only on the IRCTC website (https://www.irctc.co.in/). Ticket booking counters at railway stations will remain closed and no counter tickets (including platform tickets) will be issued.
Only AC trains will run
Starting from May 12, only AC compartments will be included in the trains. In which 1 AC, 2 AC and 3 AC coaches will be installed. There will be no sleeper or general class bogey in these trains. The stoppage of these trains will also be less.
No train will have a pantrycar
These 30 trains will not have a pantrycar attached. That is, the passengers have to arrange their own food and water. Railways have made this arrangement to prevent the infection of corona virus.
Fare equivalent to Rajdhani trains
These special trains will have fare equal to Rajdhani. This will directly affect the travel passenger’s pocket. During the lockdown, any passenger who needs to travel will have to spend more money.
