Sensex continues to rise for a third day in a row; Nifty faces resistance at 17442–17640 and could shortly reach new highs.
Bulls continued to rule Dalal Street as benchmark indices closed the day higher on Friday. The NSE Nifty 50 ended at 17,158, increasing 1.35 percent, while the Sensex surged 712 points or 1.25 percent to settle at 57,570. The headline indices have now increased for three straight days.
Sun Pharma, HDFC, and ata Steel were the next three biggest gainers on the Sensex, each rising by 7.4 percent. Along with Kotak Mahindra Bank, State Bank of India, and Axis Bank, Dr. Reddy’s fell 3.9 percent to finish as the worst-performing Sensex stock. While Bank Nifty gained 0.30 percent, India VIX lost ground, losing 17 levels.
