Ratan Tata received a tricolour as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan.’ On Friday, industrialists Ratan Tata and Anand Mahindra were presented with the national flag as part of the government’s ‘Ghar Ghar Tiranga’ campaign to commemorate India’s 76th Independence Day.

PM Narendra Modi launched the campaign on July 22 as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, a Government of India initiative to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture, and achievements.

The central government plans to plant 20 crore flags atop houses from August 13 to August 15 to commemorate 75 years of Indian independence.
Tata, 84, received the flag as part of the campaign on Friday.

Mahindra, 67, expressed his gratitude to India Post for presenting him with the flag as part of the government campaign. On Friday, the Mahindra Group chairman tweeted a photo of himself with the flag.
“It was an honour to receive the ‘Tiranga’ from Postmaster General of Mumbai, Swati Pandey, as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign.” Thank you, Swati, for keeping our postal system flying high. It is still the beating heart of our country!” Mahindra stated on Twitter.
According to reports, the sale of the national flag has increased dramatically as a result of the government campaign.

“The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav means elixir of independence energy; elixir of inspirations of freedom fighters; elixir of new ideas and pledges; and elixir of Aatmanirbharta.” As a result, this Mahotsav is a festival of national awakening; a festival of realising the dream of good governance; and a festival of global peace and development,” PM Modi said of the government campaign aimed at instilling patriotism and raising awareness about the national flag.
