Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon died on Tuesday in Delhi’s Medanta Hospital due to prolonged illness. His son and minister in Uttar Pradesh government Ashutosh Tandon confirmed the news. Lalji Tandon was admitted to Medanta Hospital on 13 June after complaining of urinary problems and fever.
After being hospitalized, Mr. Tandon had liver and kidney problems, and he had stomach bleeding, which led to his operation by doctors. He was later placed on a ventilator.
Political Career:
Born on 12 April 1935, Lalji Tandon took the command of Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s constituency Lucknow in the beginning of his political career.
Lalji Tandon who was active in the politics of Uttar Pradesh, had been a minister in the BJP government many times, Mr. Tandon made significant contributions to the party while in the BJP. He was an associate of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The veteran leader served for two terms as a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, and was later made the Governor of Bihar in 2018. In view of Bihar’s working style, he was transferred to Madhya Pradesh just 1 year before today i.e. on 20 July 2019.
