Three naxalites of the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) were killed by the Central Reserve Police Force and local police in an encounter between Manmadubera and Kentai villages in the Chaibasa district of Jharkhand in the mountainous area under Tebow Police. Two were arrested, including an injured Naxalite.
Chaibasa Superintendent of Police Indrajit Mehta said that the police had received information that the Naxals of the PLFI organization were planning to organize an incident in the said area. After this, in the early hours of siege, they were asked to surrender but they started firing, in response to which the security forces took action and killed three Naxalites of this Naxalite organization in a fierce encounter. A Naxalite was injured in this.
He said that apart from the injured Naxalites, the security forces have also succeeded in arresting another Naxalite. The injured Naxalite is admitted to the hospital where his condition is stated to be out of danger.
Security forces have recovered a large number of arms and ammunition from the encounter site. The whole area is still under investigation.
