The person who first died of corona infection in the state was a resident of Saram village in Gomia in Bokaro district. He was admitted to Bokaro General Hospital on April 4 due to shortness of breath.
Late on Wednesday, the test report of his sample came positive, but he died at half past one night before treatment. Here, on Wednesday, an investigation by various samples late night found an infection in a total of nine people. Five of these patients are members of the family of a woman resident of Hindpiri, Ranchi, who was found infected recently. The virus was infected by a Malaysian woman. Similarly, out of 4 patients of Bokaro, three patients are members of the family of a woman who was found infected recently. The woman returned from Dhaka to attend the Tablighi Jamaat meeting.
Here, the sudden increase in the number of cases in Ranchi and Bokaro has increased the concern of the state government. The Health Department on Thursday directed the Deputy Commissioners and Civil Surgeons of both the districts to completely seal the three km area of the place and stop the entry of outsiders in the 7 km area where all these patients were staying. Also ordered screening and sample screening of all the people living in the three km area.
