Recalling his last meeting with his dear friend and late Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor, senior lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar on Thursday shared an old photo with the late actor and his wife Neetu Kapoor.

Tied in the bond of their 47-year friendship, Rishi’s one hand is seen on Akhtar’s shoulder in the picture, while his other hand is seen in Akhtar’s hand. Is holding Neetu Kapoor is seen standing near both of them and smiling.
Akhtar tweeted with the picture, “Our last meeting in New York was a long session of nostalgia jokes and laughter. Now he is gone. ”
Earlier in the day, the senior lyricist wrote on Twitter expressing grief over the veteran actor’s demise and recalled how the two were friends.
“Today I have lost a dear friend, Rishi Kapoor. We first met in 1973 in Bangalore. He came for a charity show by Bobby Ann. I went there to shoot for Sholay. We met in the evening, kept talking until the program started. 47 years old friendship. Goodbye dear friend, ”Javed Akhtar tweeted earlier.
Rishi Kapoor was earlier admitted to the hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday. He died at 8:45 pm Thursday after a two-year-long battle with leukemia.
In September 2019, the veteran actor returned to Mumbai after being in New York for nearly a year for cancer treatment.
